Both homes, now available as weekly vacation rentals, are on Morton Avenue in the original part of Palacios - a quaint seaside town of 5,000 founded in 1902 and located midway between Galveston and Corpus Christie. Unlike those big city beaches, the pace in Palacios is slow and easy. With no resorts or chain hotels, no water parks or goofy golf, the focus here is on old-fashioned family fun and enjoying nature. Fishing, swimming, bird-watching, bicycling, sailing and kayaking are among the favorite activities. Eating fresh shrimp netted by the largest shrimping fleet on the Texas coast or enjoying Mexican and Oriental cuisine from locally owned restaurants is a big attraction, too.

These vacation homes are just a short stroll from the sunrises over East Tres Palacios Bay where you can launch your fishing boat, take a sail or go canoeing and kayaking. You can also stroll along the 1.5 mile lighted and palm-tree lined seawall and spy pelicans, gulls, herons and dolphins or drop your line into the bay from one of the piers for the catch of the day.

Sunrise Cottage offers accommodations for up to 4 people, Seabreeze for up to 6 people. Both homes feature new appliances and furnishings. Their location is unsurpassed - near the water but secluded on a quiet residential street within walking distance of shops and restaurants.
